Fort Zachary Taylor, also known as Fort Zac by locals, this place should be on your list. It is beautiful and has something for everyone. You want to sit on the beach? Done, rent a cabana and some chairs and do it. You want to abide in history and see a real Civil War era fort? Done, take a walk and read some plaques. It is also a great photo op to catch the sunset. There is a charge for entry, so plan to spend the day. While my oldest and I went to The Hemingway House my husband and youngest visited here. I’m sad we did not have an extra day to come and spend the day here as a family.
